What’s Coming Soon … and how you can participate in the fun!

We want to let you know that we are continuing to work hard on improving For the Love of Yarn. Here are some of the things we have in store for future issues and how you can get in on the action:

Reader’s Gallery - Don’t you ever wonder what patterns look like made by other crafters like you? Well we do! We also want to know what other yarns people are using (besides what the pattern calls for) and what modifications they made to make the pattern their own. Well wonder no further because we plan to offer a reader’s gallery right in our magazine linked directly to the pattern you made. Once you complete a project from our patterns go ahead and submit a picture of your finished object telling us all about it. We want to know things like how long it took you, what yarn and needle/hook sizes you used, what modifications you made (if any), and any other interesting bit of information you’d like to share. Submit that all to our editor at editor@fortheloveofyarn.com with the subject “Reader’s Gallery” adding your name, email and website address - and we’ll post your work to our gallery for everyone to see!

Complete Yarn Offerings - We like things that are a one-stop-shop. It’s our goal to create a magazine where you can not only get free patterns but where you can shop directly from the pattern for the yarns to make that pattern. If you are a retailer (small or large) who is interested in selling your yarns directly on our site, please contact our advertising manager at admanager@fortheloveofyarn.com to find out how.

Yarn Directory - It’s our goal to be a one-stop shop for yarn information. We have a continued plan to compile a directory of yarn stores (both local and online), yarn companies, and yarn-loving local groups/guilds. We will give you the tools to be able to search the directory to find stores and groups/guilds by state and country. If you are a yarn store or yarn company, download our advertising rate sheet to find out how you can be listed in our directory for a small fee. If you are a yarn loving group/guild, email our editor at editor@fortheloveofyarn.com with all of your information (contact name and number, location, website address, etc.) and we’ll post that information free of charge so others can find your group too!

Contests - We are working with yarn stores and yarn companies to be able to offer contests where you can win FREE stuff (we like free around here!) Keep your eyes open and make sure you are signed up for our newsletter so you can be the first to know! If you are a yarn company or yarn store that wants to sponsor a contest, be sure and contact our advertising manager at admanager@fortheloveofyarn.com.

Archives - Ever since our little idea of a free online knitting and crocheting magazine was in the planning stages, we started working with an advisory board to find out what types of things our readers would want. We heard, loud and clear, that they wanted an archive that was searchable and easy to use. Since this is only our second issue we don’t have much to archive and search right now. However we plan to offer a fully searchable archive that will help you search by gauge, yarn weight, type of project and more! Stay tuned for this great addition!

Submit a Pattern or Article - Are you a seasoned or new author or designer? Have you always wanted to be published? Now is your chance! Mosey on over to our submissions page to download a packet on how you can get your work seen by all of our readers! We welcome new ideas and fresh stories! Currently we are seeking articles by knitters and crocheters from around the world as we want to know what it is like to be a yarn craft lover where you live!

Get your items reviewed by our staff - Do you spin, dye and sell your own yarn? Maybe you just wrote a book? Or you could be the amazing homemade stitch marker, knitting needle, dry hands lotion, needle case creator? No matter what product you are selling we’d love to review it! Contact our editor at editor@fortheloveofyarn.com to have your products reviewed in our next issue!

FAQ - Got a question that you think others will have too? Email our editor at editor@fortheloveofyarn.com with your question and she will not only get back to you, but she might just post it up on the FAQ page to share with others (we’ll take your name off of course!)

Advertise - Last but not least, we are always looking for advertisers who want to get their business seen by our readers. It’s advertisers who help make our site possible and will allow us to reward our designers and authors with compensation.
