For the Love of Yarn

What You’ll Find in This Issue…

This issue is all about babies, babies and more babies… kids too! We here at For the Love of Yarn just got a new reason to knit and crochet. I, the editor, just gave birth to my first child, a son. This means sleepless nights, changing lots of diapers, and having a new reason to buy yarn! What more could I ask for?

This issue has some terrific projects for both babies and kids for the beginner to the advanced yarn lover. We are so very excited to have two designers new to For the Love of Yarn featured in this issue.

Erika, a seasoned designer, created a fabulous kimono out of cotton yarn. She is offering project kits for sale on her pattern page, shipped directly to you, so you can knit one up exactly like the one in the picture. This is the perfect baby gift for even the littlest of babies.

Anastacia, another seasoned designer, created some fabulous crocheted baby socks that are perfect for keeping tiny feet warm this winter. There is a wonderful lace pattern at the top, which makes it look like you spend lots of time and effort on this project.

We are proud to have some of our favorite designers and authors back once again for this issue.

Catherine and Jody have both designed baby blankets for their grandchildren. Tara has created an adorable hat and scarf set for babies and kids. This set resembles a Stegosaurus and is a terrific knit for when the child you love goes through their “dinosaur phase.” Tara was nice enough to knit a set for my new son. When we took him out and about in the neighborhood wearing it, all the little kids wanted one of their own.

And if it seems like there are always babies to be knit and crocheted for, have no fear. Catherine has written a fantastic article about what to make for the never ending cycle of baby showers, from a grandmother’s point of view.

Don’t forget to check out our great yarn directory. We have added several groups and guilds and one might be in your area. If you don’t see the group or guild you belong to, feel free to send it to us and we’ll get the information in our directory at once! It’s free of charge and we are happy to promote your yarn loving group!

We have gotten several thank you letters from readers who have used the FREE classifieds section to either reduce or build their yarn stash. Don’t’ forget that it’s only in our classifieds where you can buy and sell all your yarn craft related stuff for FREE.

If you haven’t done so already, hop on over and sign up for our newsletter. By signing up you’ll always be the first to know about all the new features we’re adding or when we’ve launched a new issue.

And that’s the fun for now! We are so glad you have joined us on this great adventure and we hope that you’ll stick with us as we grow and change into the fantastic magazine we know we’ll be! We are the only free online magazine offering both knitting and crocheting in one place, and we’re working hard to make you proud!

Until Next Time,

Alison
